DIY: Summer Floral Manicure

Hello again! Woot after such a long hiatus you guys are getting two posts in one day! Today I'm going to teach you how to do this adorable Floral Manicure like the one below.

These are the nails I did on myself

What You'll Need:
-Top and Base Coat (I use Sally Hansen 'Double duty')
-Purple polish (I used Rimmel London 60 Seconds in the color 'Sweet Lanvender')
-Yellow polish (I used Sinfulcolors in the color 'Let's Meet')
-A small dotting tool
-Napkin

Step by Step:
1. First put on one layer of your base coat
2. Then paint two coats of your purple polish, let dry
3. Next put a glob of your yellow polish on a napkin
4. Using your dotting tool dip it into your yellow polish, then create five small dots in a circle. This creates the flower effect.
5. Repeat all the steps then let your nails dry
6. Put a layer of your top coat on then let your nails dry completely.

Then there you have it a beautiful and simple summer floral nail art manicure!

Product Review: CoverGirl NatureLuxe Foundation

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't updated in a long time but I've been just wayyyy to busy this past while. But I've decided tonight would be a good time to catch up on a post or two. So for today's post I', doing a product review on CoverGirls NatureLuxe Foundation.

So this product was really popular a few years ago when they had Miss Taylor Swift as the CoverGirl but since then it's definitely lost a lot of this fan base. When I was using this product I wasn't much of a makeup person so I thought 'naturally' (ha! see what I did there??) it was super great because it felt really light on my skin. What I didn't really realize was that this product did absolutely nothing for my skin. My skin tone was as un-even as before and my blemishes were maybe toned down a bit but not much. All in all NOW when I try this product I've noticed all these things and It's obvious to me now that this product isn't as good as I thought. So if you love this product by all means don't stop using it just cause I said so but, I'd suggest maybe also trying something new maybe a higher end product.

I was on youtube watching some of my favorite beauty gurus when I started seeing the TRESemmé Heat Protection Spray pop up everywhere. This product had a lot of hype and I needed to try it out for myself. My hair is natural and has never been dyed but it is very thick and heavy and I don't want to fry it out. So I went to Target and bought the heat protectant.

See in my shower I have to corner shelfs that are full with shampoo, but my poor shower gels and soaps had no spot! I went to Walmart and found this...

It is the perfect thing for my loofa and other shower/bath products. Although that isn't anywhere near the amount of shower gels I have at least I can keep my most used ones in an easy to reach spot. Tips & Tricks: Makeup Brush Cleaning

Ladies as you all know its pretty mandatory to spot clean your makeup brushes on a regular bases. But how often do we really do that?? So what I've been doing is deep cleaning my brushes twice a month. This is the way to get out all the gunk and dirt out of your brushes so they are clean and sanitary.

This is what you need to do, grab your dirty brushes, some baby shampoo, and a towel. Head on over to your bathroom sink and wet each brush put a dab of shampoo in the palm of your hand and swirl each brush into it. Rinse the brushes under the running water and continue to massage the bristles gently until all the makeup is out of them. Rinse out all the remanding shampoo then dab your brushes on the towel and lay them out to air dry. This leaves your brushes looking brand new and very clean. Go on try it for yourself!

DIY: Arizona Tea Inspired Nails

Even though I'm a huge nail freak I haven't posted a nail tutorial yet, but have no fear my first one is here! Today's post I'm gonna show you how to do an easy DIY arizona tea nail design, just like the one below. I love this design it's perfect for spring or summer and it looks super pretty!

These are the nails I did on myself

What you'll need:
-base and top coat: I used a base coat by Sally Hansen & and the Sephora Matte top coat
-a light turquoise color nail polish: I used Turquoise & Caicos by Essie
-a light pink nail polish: I used Fiji by Essie
-a hot pink nail polish: I used Daredevil by Sinful Colors
-a black nail polish striper: I used one from Kiss Nail Art
-a small dotting tool

Step by Step:
1. Paint a base coat on all your nails then let dry.
2. Paint 2 coats of your turquoise nail polish then let dry.
3. Using your black striper create branches on your ring finger and thumb.
4. Using your small dotting tool and hot pink polish add some dots on the branches.
5. Now using your light pink polish and dotting tool add a tiny dot in the centre of all your hot pink dots, let dry completely.
6. Add a top coat shinny or matte, then voila you are all done!

This easy nail art looks a lot more professional then what it takes to make, everyone will be asking you where you got your nails done!

DIY: Perfume Tray

I thought it was time again for me to show you a fun and quick 'do it yourself' project. I have quite a few perfumes and I wasn't sure where I should be keeping them; one day when I was rummaging through my basement I came across some older antique picture frames and thats when the idea hit me! Why not make cool perfume trays out of them, so that's what I did.

This is the tray I made

What you'll need:
-a picture frame of some sort (I prefer ones with a large ornate frame like above)
-some decorate paper (I just used some scrapbooking paper)
-and 4 little felt circle stick ons (These are used at each corners so the tray doesn't scrap the surface it's on)
-scissors

Step by step:
1. you need to cut the paper to fit inside the frame, the easiest way I've found to do it is by taking out the glass from the frame and using that as a guide to for the scrapbooking paper.
2. then you just place the glass (this is important to have the glass in it other wise it won't work as a tray) and your scrapbooking paper into the frame
3. next take your four felt pieces and place one at each corner to prevent scrapping.
4. turn over your tray add your favorite perfumes on top and there you have it a gorgeous and simple to make perfume tray!

Tips & Tricks: Extra Bright Nails

One of this years hottest nail trends has been bright, vibrant colors. I myself have been loving this trend but I've been wanting my nails to be even brighter! I have a trick that will help you create the brightest nails this season.

All you got to do is pick out a white nail polish and your favorite bright color. First paint your nails with a base coat then apply one coat of white nail polish. The white polish really helps create a solid base to plump up your actual nail polish's color. Let it dry then apply two coats of your bright polish then a top coat to finish, and there you go a bright, vibrant nail polish!

Product Versus Review: Bubble Bath

Alright my readers today post has to do with the wonderful art of 'bath taking'. I myself am a HUGE lover of taking baths; and if I could I would do it everyday! We all know that bubble baths are the way to go when you want to have a bath, but with so many different products out there how do you know what is the best one to choose?

I have narrowed down my bubble bath selection to two of the more popular choices and decided to do a VS. review on them. My first product is the I Love... bubble bath in Strawberries and Milkshake and my second product is Lush's comforter bath bar. Now each product has it's ups and downs but which one is the better buy?

The I Love... bubble bath is by far my favorite liquid bubble bath you can buy. It has a super creamy and silky texture that is very luxurious and I love it in the scent Strawberries & Milkshake. Another plus out of it is that it lasts you quite a while considering it's a liquid bubble bath. The only thing that isn't that great about it is the whole aroma you get from it. Sure it smells really good in the bottle when the liquid is all concentrated but once you poor some into your bath this bubble bath looses a good portion of it's scent.

Lush's bath bar's have become a huge staple at Lush. They are AMAZING and to tell you the truth I think they win this battle in bubble baths. Not only do these bar's have an amazing scent that LASTS but they also create mounds and mounds of bubbles and softens your skin at the same time! It also is a neat touch how they change the color of the water in your bath. I also love making a 'bath cocktail' as they call it at Lush, that's when you add a bubble bar and a bath bomb in the tub for an extra special bath. The downfall I've found in this product is that it crumbles a little to easily and there have been many times I've tried to break off a small size piece but end up dropping a huge piece into the bath tub. But I can't complain because otherwise this product is perfect.

The Winner is.... Lush's Bubble Bar!

I Love... Bubble Bath in Stawberries & Milkshake
Price: $10.00

Lush Bubble Bar in Comforter
Price: $10.95

Product Review: NARS Lager Than Life Lip Gloss

Yesterday I decided to treat myself with a new lip gloss, and what better lip gloss than a NARS one? So I drove myself over to the nearest Sephora and purchased from NARS's newest line of lip gloss 'Larger Than Life.' I thought since this is a new product why not do a review?

Now I'm huge on lip products, I've always been this way. For some reason I'd rather do a bright fun lip than a hot smokey eye (but don't get me wrong a hot smokey eye is good too!). The lip gloss I bought is NARS Larger Than Life in the color Coeur Sucre. It's the most gorgeous bright hot pink, with the perfect amount of sparkle and shine. Now let me tell you this lip gloss is absolutely FABULOUS! It also comes in almost TWENTY different shades and colors, talk about a girls dream! I love the color I bought, it is so gorgeous and vivid, but it is also long lasting (BONUS!). Another wonderful plus side to this lip gloss is that it also pumps up your lips adding the perfect amount of volume to your lips. I definitely would recommend this product to others. The only downside I've found other than that it is pretty pricy, is that it can be a tad gloopy and sticky at first, so try to make sure you put it on early enough that you can let it dry. Otherwise this product is a great addition to my lip products collection.

DIY: Floral Crown

One of this spring and summer's hottest trend was the floral crown or headband. This whimsical look has been a staple in the fashion world this year and doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon. For today's post I've chosen to do a DIY floral crown that is an easy and fun craft to do on your own or with friends!

The Floral Crown I made

What you'll need:

-a head band that wraps around your forehead: Mine is actually a floral crown that had tiny little flowers already on it, I bought it from Walmart.
-your favorite flower (either fake or real): I used fake white and pink roses from Walmart
-superglue
-floral tape
-scissors
-15-30 Minutes of your time.

Step by Step:

1. Lay out your head band and decided where you want your flowers.
2. Cut off the stems from your flowers, but leave a about half an inch.
3. Attach your flowers in your desired spots with super glue, hold in place for about 20 seconds so the glue will stick.
4. If a part of the stem is sticking out to far, wrap floral tape around the exposed stem.
5. Continue attaching flowers all the way around your headband until you have your desired amount, and that's all!

This is a super easy and fast craft that will be perfect for either a hip music festival, a magical photo shoot with your girls, or just to add a bit of a girly touch to your favorite outfit!
