Nails: Spring/Summer Nail Polish Picks

Happy Spring everyone! You guys probably know by now that I love having my nails done, and now that, winter is over I thought it would be a good post to show you my Spring/Summer nail polish picks! I chose seven colors that I have that I think are perfect for these bright seasons!

In order from left to right in photo above.

1. "Peachy Keen" Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure. I seriously love this color, It's the perfect nude tone for my skin color. My favorite way to wear this color is when my nails are long and I put a matte top coat over top.

2. "Fiji" Essie Nail Lacquer. This is the perfect light pink color for spring, it looks so pretty with anyone's skin tone. It's really girly and I love that for spring.

3. "Hot Chilli Pepper" Rimmel London 60 Seconds. The first thing that comes to my mind when I see this color is sunset. I think this is a gorgeous sophisticated color for spring and summer and is a great pedicure color as well.

4. "I'm Not A Kiwi" Nail Polish by H&M. The reason why I love this color is not only that it's bright but because it's very different. It's not a usual choice for a nail polish but looks amazing with an all black and white outfit.

5. "Mint Candy Apple" Essie Nail Lacquer. This color is just a gorgeous pale sky/ robin eggs blue. I love how light and 'airy' it is. It looks especially gorgeous with tanned skin.

6. "Blizzard Blue" Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color. Despite the chilly nail, this color reminds me of a mermaid tail. I think this look so pretty on when it's plain or with a silver glitter top coat.

7. "Sweet Lavender" Rimmel London 60 Seconds. What would a spring/summer nail polish post be without a stunning lilac color? This color is just amazing I think its so perfect for these two season and is very fun to wear on it's own or with any other color.

Tweet me your favorite spring/summer nail color @Dream_inStyle, and I'll retweet you! :)

Shoes: Spring & Summer Must Haves!

Hello my dear readers! Today's post is going to be devoted to every girls weakness... SHOES! Now I've always been a shoe lover but recently my shoelust has become a little out of hand. And when I mean a little I mean a lot. Every time I go shopping I feel the need to buy a new pair of shoes! There is something so wonderful in having a new pair of shoes to fawn over. So for this shoe post, I'm going to be giving you my top pick for casual everyday, sophisticated office, and night out shoes.

Alright lets get started!

Casual Everyday Shoes: For this look I chose a pair of flat gladiator inspired sandals. These gorgeous black and gold (Sigh, you know that's my weakness) sandals from Zigi Girl which are the Arrow style are my idea of the perfect spring/summer sandal. They are something that will look great with a pair of jeans and tee, but you can also dress up with a maxi skirt and crop top.

Nails for a Princess: Jasmine

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to introduce my new series here on my blog. If you follow me on twitter then you already know what this is. Since I have an obsession with painting my nails and all things Disney, I thought what's better than combing the two together! That's how I created my new Disney princesses inspired nail art series called 'Nails for a Princess'. I'm really, really, REALLY excited about this guys (if you haven't already been able to tell). I think this could be really fun and I hope you guys like it just as much as I do.

For all my non-nail artist viewers don't stress, I'm going to being doing a range of nail designs from beginner all the way to expert nail art. I want to make this something that covers a range of difficulties so even my beginner nail painters can give them a try.

The first design I have for you today is inspired by the lovely princess Jasmine from Disney's Aladdin.

Disney Princess: Jasmine (Aladdin)

Difficulty: 1.5/5

What you'll need:
- a light blue nail polish (I used Essie's Mint Candy Apple)
- a sparkly gold polish (preferably with fine glitter)
- a matte top coat
- a nail file

Instructions:
1. First use your file and shape your nails into a point.
2. Paint each nail two coats with your light blue polish. Then LET DRY.
3. Paint one coat of your top coat on each nail. Then LET DRY.
4. With your gold polish using the side of the brush make a line at the tip of your nail from the outer corner of one side of your nail to the middle, then do the same thing on the other side of the nail towards the center. And there you have it a supper easy nail design that resembles Jamine's outfit and looks super stylish!

Please tweet me @Dream_inStyle and add a picture if you want, if you've done this nail art design and use the hashtag #DISprincessnails.

Product Review: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick

Long time no blog! Seriously I feel bad for not blogging since last month but exams got the better of me. Anyways I'm back and ready to give you guys a new post. Today I wanted to share with you a drugstore lipstick brand I've tired out. It is the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick, it was 25% off at my local drugstore so I thought there was no better time to try it out.

Rating: 3 stars out of 5

Other than this being on sale what first attracted me to these lipstick was the fact that it had a matte nude lipstick. I have been looking for one forever but haven't been satisfied with anyone I've found. Then when I saw the gorgeous deep purple color I just couldn't resist. The two colors I got were Nude Attitude 001 and Black Cherry 477. And just look at the packaging guys, if you follow me on twitter (@Dream_inStyle) then you know of my obsession with black and gold. Sigh... They are just so beautiful.

Let's start with Nude Attitude first, when I swatched this color on my hand it was a really nice nude with an orange undertone. Then when I got home and tired this I found I really wasn't all that pleased with the formula. It being a matte color I knew the formula would be dry but this was very opaque as well. It wasn't until I used a lip scrub and added an lip balm underneath and a few generous coast I was pleased with the color. It was cheap to begin with so I'm not too disappointed but I just wished that it was more pigmented.

The other color Black Cherry also has the same problem it's not pigmented enough. But on the other hand it is a cream formula so it does go on a lot nicer than the nude. You do however have to add several coats to get it as dark as it appears in the tube. But once you do the color is really gorgeous. Also it's important to use a lip scrub before hand to get rid of any dry skin.

All in all these lipsticks are okay, they didn't blow me away and I didn't hate them, it might take a few extra steps to get the finished look you were going for but when your done your lips do look really good. I've gotten a lot of complements from these lipsticks especially the Black Cherry.

Monthly Favorites: March

I can't believe that the end of March is already here. You know what that means, another monthly favorites post. Although I don't have a ton of products to show you this month I think the ones I have are really good products to try, and there is a nice array of types of products.

Products:

Eyes: Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara: ($11.50)
What I like about this: I've been recently really loving the way Kylie Jenner has her eyelashes, I find that this mascara has really helped me achieve her long lash look.

Face: Milani Baked Blush in 'Berry Amore 03': ($7.99)
What I like about this: These baked blushes are not only gorgeous colors but also beautifully pigmented. The gold mixed into the berry color creates such a beautiful effect on the skin.

Fashion: Victoria's Secret PINK Lace Bralette: ($25.00)
What I like about this: These bralettes are seriously the most comfortable things ever. Not only do they look supper cute under a loose tank top they are perfect for a lazy day at home, when you can't force yourself to stick on a bra.

Skin Care: Simple Foaming Cleanser: ($6.99)
What I like about this: I find a lot of face cleanser don't really feel like they are removing all my face makeup off, with this foaming cleanser I can really feel a difference and it leaves my face feeling really clean.

Movie: Disney's Frozen Blue-Ray Combo Pack: ($29.99)
What I like about this: Frozen has been my absolute favorite thing in general this month, I can't get enough of it and the songs. I had to buy the movie so I can watch it when ever I want. Seriously though Elsa is just beyond perfect, and can anyone tell me where I can get an Olaf of my own?

I hope you like my March favorites, please comment below and also check me out on twitter @Dream_inStyle

I've Been Nominated!

Hello everyone! I was nominated for the Liebster award. If you guys don't know what it is, it's an award given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. I'm really honoured to have been nominated by Mlle KarenAnne very sweet of her, click on her name to check out her great blog!

Alright time to get to the best part! The questions, okay here the 11 question that I will answer from Karen Anne.

What is your full name? Most of you know me on here as 'V' or Dream in Style, but my real name is Vanessa.

You have 5 minutes to put on make up what products would you use? This is pretty easy for me to answer since I do this everyday I have school, I would use foundation, concealer, translucent powder, blush, mascara, and lip balm!

Are you a planner or spontaneous? This is hard to answer I would say, I'm a bit of both. For bigger events I'm definitely a planner but I also love those spur of the moment outings!

If you could have any profession you wanted. What would it be? Skys the limit. This is SO hard for me to choose, but I think if I could be only one thing I would want to be celebrity stylist. I think that would be such a cool job to have.

Have you got a hidden talent? Hmmmm, I can curl my tongue... does that count?

Name a beauty product that you couldn’t live without and why? I think that would have to be my baby lips, lip balm. That stuff is a life saver, it does wonders for my lips.

Who is your fashion icon? This one is easy, the one and only... Audrey Hepburn!

If you could have any super power. What would it be and why? I would want to fly, that way I could go anywhere in the world when ever and I would never have to pay for gas or a plane ticket again!

Are you a tea or coffee person? 100% Coffee, drink it daily. I'm not a fan of tea at all.

If your house was burning and you had time to take one thing what would it be? Probably my mothers necklace.

Most inspirational quote? 'Nothing is impossible, the word it self says 'i'm' possible." -Audrey Hepburn.

Decor: Pretty Little Style

Heyo, I'm back today with another post! Wow it's my 40th post yay! So for that I have decided today will be my first official decor post. I want to show you how to achieve that pretty pastel room decor that has been so popular lately. I've been loving the look of lace like, white, a roses all mixed together in one.

My own decor items

This photo above is of a few of my favorite decor items I have in my room on a shelf. As you can see my walls are painted a soothing grey color. My first tip to achieve this look is to keep your wall color very neutral. Either a white, off white in any color, cream or light grey, this will help set the base for your room making it feel like and airy. Now I know many people have wood furniture that isn't white, and although having white furniture is ideal, you'll see that my shelf is wood and not painted white. I know it pretty pricy to get new furniture for your room so you can either sand down your furniture and paint it white, or just stick to what you have. I've just left my furniture au natural. It's all about how you dress it up, using light colored bedding is another key factor this will help stick with that light and rosy feeling. On my bed I currently have dark grey bedding but I have put a light pink blanket on my bed and cream crochet throw on it as well to kind of hid the dark grey. Also having white accent pillows help a lot when wanting to keep with this girly theme. When purchasing frames and decor pieces for your room stick to all white and it will keep the theme going throughout your room.

What pieces are in the picture above?:

The bird cage t-light holder can be easily found in places like Michael's and practically any other store that carry decor items.

The two white pots are from Ikea, the larger one is a plant pot while the smaller one with the triangular edges is actually a candle holder.

The pink fake flower are just from Wallmart but you can find these at practically any craft store.
